The evening featured Blanco Cigars and a pairing of two tequilas.
About the evening
This Straight Up & Toasted swapped scotch for tequila, pairing Blanco Cigars with two expressions from Don Julio, the 70 Añejo Claro and the Reposado, while Christi Gehrisch and her quartet played jazz.
Blanco’s family roots run back to Pinar del Río, Cuba, alongside their cousins the Plasencias. The Don Julio 70 is aged 18 months in American white oak, then filtered for crisp agave flavor. The Reposado spends eight months in barrel for a rich, smooth finish.
