Cigar 101

Guest lighting a cigar at a Fine Tobacco Club evening at The Carnegie ClubGuest discussing a cigar during a guided tasting

Everyone starts somewhere. Cigar 101 is where a lot of our members did.

We keep it small, 15 to 20 people, and cover the things nobody tells you: how to cut and light a cigar properly, what good construction looks like, and how to put words to what you’re tasting. No pretension, no wrong questions. Most of our sessions have been held at The Carnegie Club.

For those who wanted to go deeper, we added Cigar 201 in 2019 with master blender Rafael Nodal, an evening on how tobacco is grown, fermented and blended into what ends up in your hand.
