On Tuesday, May 16, 2017, Fine Tobacco Club hosted Private Tasting with Davidoff Cigars at Davidoff Brookfield Place in Battery Park City.
About the evening
Our second evening with Davidoff took place at the new Brookfield Place flagship lounge. It paired the Davidoff Yamasa with a flight of rare whiskies: Glenmorangie Nectar D’Or, Glenmorangie Signet and Ardbeg Corryvreckan.
Matthias called the Yamasa “the closest thing I’ve had to a religious experience with a cigar in years.” Charred oak, pepper and smoked salmon gave way to semi-sweet chocolate in the second half. The whiskies ran from the dessert-wine notes of Nectar D’Or to the cocoa and orange of Signet and the medicinal, citrus-peel intensity of Corryvreckan.
